Ana and Nervosa Rexia
by Cheryl Chapin, Arts Access Playwright

[The sisters speak to the audience without acknowledging each other's presence.]

Nervosa: today I met a superhero in the supermarket. In the produce section. She was squeezing the melons.

Ana: boy, did I ever meet a crackpot in the supermarket today. There I was, minding my own business in the produce section, trying to find decent melon, and along comes this food-giver woman - or whatever she was - peddling salmon. So I say to myself, "what harm can she do to the salmon?" And I take it.
