Mission

The mission of Arts Access is to enable people with disabilities to access, experience, and create fine art.

 

"Arts Access' objectives are to enrich each individual's sense of self... to increase poise in unfamiliar situations, and to increase confidence in voicing original thoughts, ideas and emotions."

The Arts Access Progam runs on the principles of:

Freedom of Choice
Neutrality
An artist assisting another artist
No preconceptions

The strong foundation built by these principles allows Arts Access to support Matheny students in developing:

Increased self-esteem
Complex decision making skills
A sense of self-sufficiency
Independence through earned income
