An excerpt from "Tomatoes of Life"
a poem by Jenny Durr
Creativity drying up
Feelings baking away in hot sun.
Slowly feel creativity rising back within me
No longer buried by the mundane.
Creativity flowing like lifeblood
Creativity like ripened, succulent, juicy tomatoes.
Creativity in my veins now being expressed.
An excerpt from "My Lesch Nyhan"
a poem by Rasheedah Mahali
I want to walk, it's not right.
I don't like it, it's not fair. I love my friends.
Lordy, it's not fair. I hate this Lesch Nyhan.
I had a dream that I walked. It felt weird, I liked it.
I walked for a long time.
I could kick men's butt like the Spy Kids.
I walked and hugged my Momma and helped her.
I held my sister, I gave her a big kiss.
I miss walking and it's not fair.
